I was thinking about doing a beach dive in Pompano tomorrow afternoon. I was wondering if anyone has been there recently. How has the visibility been? I spent a day on the beach (further south) a week ago. Visibility on the beach was the worst I have ever seen.

Thanks for the info!! :cool2:

Thanks for the reply.

We went on Friday and the color and viz wasn't the greatest I have ever seen. It wasn't terrible though. We went later in the day and the wind picked up pretty dramatically. Made for an easy swim back though. I wouldn't say I was not pleased with the dive, but conditions have been much better in the past. Sometimes we stay and the broken reef closer in rather than make the full swim out to the drop-off. Viz at the broken reef was 10' at the most. Once we got to the drop-off it was a little better. Maybe 30'.

I am not a great photographer (just learning), but here are a few nice shots I got.

I have an Olympus 770 SW. It is a great camera since it doesn't need a housing for anything shallower than 33 feet. It does come with it's drawbacks. I do not have a strobe so I have to clean the color up with Photoshop. Plus there is always a little haze on them. Oh well.

Viz off the beach at the very very north end of LBTS was 30-40 but a little cloudy around sunset last night.
We saw a buch of medium sized turtles though.
That was super cool!
We caught around 11 bugs, but a few shorts so we only brought up 7 bugs.
The eggers are all gone as far as I can see.
I will be going out off of the beach Sunday AM weather depending.

It did not happen. The weather pretty much caved in as everyone down here is aware.
No issues though,
I jumped into a pool with some little guys and practiced my photography technique.
I am really getting the handle on photography!
I am past being horrible to just sucking!
Next stop lousy!

I'm with you on the photography. I am terrible. I take about 150 picture each time out and get 4that turn out just ok. I blame it on the camera though. Why take responsibility for my lack of skills.

I went out this past weekend. Conditions were great. I suggest everyone get out as soon as possible. Winds were 8mph and seas were less than 2 feet.
