Hi guys,

I'm going to install kneepads on my dry suit.

Could you please tell me is polyurethane glue suitable for this job?

I don't have access to any of the specialized glues, like McNett brand, that's why I would like to use commercially available polyurethane glue.

Pretty much any of the moisture curing, flexible, urethane or poly urethane adhesives will be fine.

Aqua seal is one example of a moisture curing urethane adhesive.

If you apply it straight out of the container and it cures on it's own it's mostly a moisture curing adhesive as opposed to a 2 part adhesive.

There are a number of "craft" adhesives that are moisture curing urethanes. You do want to avoid foaming or rigid adhesives like Gorilla Glue.

The MSDS sheets, typically available on line, can give you a clue.

Good luck.

Hi guys,

I tried using McNett Aquasure glue, but I need some advise.

Shall I cover both surfaces with glue, leave it for 6-7 hours to get tacky and then mate both surfaces or shall I cover with glue both surfaces and mate them straight away, then leave it to dry?

Which approach is best for installing knee pads for example?

I'm looking forward to heating from you.

Aquasure is a moisture curing urethane adhesive. It is not a contact adhesive.

You need to bond the materials before the glue dries.

Good luck,

Tobin
