Cool...I'll bring a bottle of champagne (the good stuff)

Ok....this is what I am thinking....

I am wondering if we can do like a dive weekend on the 18th and 19th. Looks like most people can come on those dates. I have a final in the morning on the 18th from 8:30-12:00. I can join the party later that day. I know some people are driving in from San Deigo and want to stay the night. SO what I am thinking is that I am more than willing to dive both days so why not if people are planning to stay in town anyways.

I am thinking that Saturday is the best day to have the BBQ for travel reasons for the out of towners. That way food is around all day and it helps maybe with the cost and or convenience of having food around since they will be around all day. That way they can get a dive or two in on Sunday morning before having lunch lets say at Neptunes then drive home..

So what do you guys think? These are the people who said they have that weekend available:
divebuddysean, Frenchy2005, HBDiveGirl, headhunter, kelphelper, sapphire, Scot M, scottfiji, scubainspired, scubapro5, wrinkles

dazedone, divinman, drjet, headhunter, kelphelper, krowsea, sapphire, Scot M, scottfiji, scubapro5

So if this looks good to most of the people that want to do it this weekend I will look into getting a group campsite reserved.

Ana,

This sounds like a good plan. Also if we have the BBQ on Saturday, there will be left overs for Sunday. We always seem to have so much food that this sounds good. I'm sure the ice in the chests will last the two days.

That works for me. I am relatively close to Malibu, so I can pop in for a dive or 2 on one or both days.

That sounds good, Ana... is there a Quality Inn near there ;)??

Doesn't REI sell/rent a portable Quality Inn involving stakes and soft walls that you can bring to the campsite? :11:

Great idea...I will eagerly join you all for Sunday's fun. (Unless it's another Santana wind weekend and the L.A. dive boats can't get to Catalina again...and then I'll drive from the BottomScratcher in Long Beach to Malibu on Saturday and join you all then.)
Oh, boy, more fun!

Looks like the 18th is the winner. If bringing a tall vehicle to Leo Carillo just keep in mind the underpass under PCH is 8 feet tall so you will have to get them to open a gate to get a taller vehcicle into the parking lot on the ocean side.
