hmmm... even when I use a small pic in my signature I get

The following errors occurred with your submission:
There is no current signature picture to use.

using [sigpic]http://www.scubaboard.com/forums/images/smilies/rofl3.gif[/sigpic] for a test case. which is the :rofl3: smiley

How about avatars? I had my political choice as my avatar and got called a communist yesterday in introductions and greets.

 dolphins are communists

:clapping: thanks to the back room for coming up with an compromise on this. i think some of the old size sig pics was bigger than some paying banners ads on SB :mooner:

now back to the forums :wave-smil:

edit: bugger, :wave-smil doesnt work anymore! off to the smilie thread!
double edit: :wave-smil: has been replaced by  oh my poor head...

I think you have to go to your edit sig page, then upload the pic you want to use using the url box there, then insert it into the sig using the[sigpic][/sigpic] code. At least it worked for me with my little sumo man.

i suppose to some of us, the above post is example why a persons politics is best kept a private matter

guys, if you wanna talk politics and swap jibes, you are free to wander on down to The Pub area

this is not the place for it

cheers

This is an international board. I do find it interesting that I can't remember seeing divers of any other nationality using politically-based images or comments in their sigfiles. Of course it could be I didn't recognize they were politicians or couldn't read the language. Hmmm.

chose a file on my PC though and it seems to be working :D

Thanks.

The url from the sumo man is a photobucket address. It worked fine for me.

I know it wasn't intentional but a side effect of this change is that its easy to adblock all of a user's sigpics with Firefox 3 + Adblock Plus.

If you adblock just the current sigpic of an SB member whose username is username, for example:
http://www.scubaboard.com/forums/avatars/username.gif?type=sigpic&dateline=1234567890

...then the next time they change their sigpic or the timer resets, a new &dateline=1234567890 number will get generated and you have to look at the new one (until you block that one, and the next, and the next...).

But if you adblock the image without the &dateline parameter (or if you replace it with an asterisk "*" ), for example:
http://www.scubaboard.com/forums/avatars/username.gif?type=sigpic
http://www.scubaboard.com/forums/avatars/username.gif?type=sigpic*

...then the next time they change their sigpic, you will still adblock any new image they may decide to change their sigpic to.

Even better, if they are doing something goofy with their avatar pic to get around this, you can block all of their SB hosted images by editing out anything after the question mark "?", for example:
http://www.scubaboard.com/forums/avatars/username.gif
http://www.scubaboard.com/forums/avatars/username.gif*

So you don't have to turn off all avatars or all signatures, just right mouse click on the image, click "Adblock Image..." and edit after everything starting at the question mark "?" after the the username.gif part then you don't get bombarded by whatever cause celebre they might be shilling.
