Interesting. I have taught Emergency Response, EFA, CPR, BLS for over 20 years. Most professional rescuers use and carry a mask for times that O2 is not immediately available. The mask is used more for agood seal as well as ease and effectiveness of use and less for preventions of disease transmission.

Sorry for the hijack, umm...no I would not carry one in my bc.

By the way, for those arguing the CPR vs. Rescue Breaths thing...New American Red Cross guidelines for adult, lay responder (trained in CPR) is NO RESCUE BREATHS, start CPR immediately if no signs of life (breathing) are present.
 
yes, start cpr immediately for the trained lay person. Also ARC does not cover training for a scuba diver(you know we can't do CPR in the water). Oh, forget it, I am not hear to argue or debate these issues.
