Interesting. I have taught Emergency Response, EFA, CPR, BLS for over 20 years. Most professional rescuers use and carry a mask for times that O2 is not immediately available. The mask is used more for agood seal as well as ease and effectiveness of use and less for preventions of disease transmission.

By the way, for those arguing the CPR vs. Rescue Breaths thing...New American Red Cross guidelines for adult, lay responder (trained in CPR) is NO RESCUE BREATHS, start CPR immediately if no signs of life (breathing) are present.
