*Floater*:
The LP description says 5# not 4# for XS scuba pockets, and I've put up to about 6# in one without problems though it was pretty tight.

The release mechanism is to open the pocket and take out the weight. But you can also invert the pockets on your waist strap so then you just have to pull them open while vertical (head up) and weight should fall out automatically.

Thanks for catching that. I was just at LP's website to check on that and was about to correct it when I saw your post. I must say I like the XS Scuba pouch better (well constructed) than the Zeagle pouch and they're cheaper too.

A SS BP gives you 6lbs and a STA weighted gives another 6 lbs, does she need more than that? I have a DIve rite pocket for a dumper and a solid lead on the other side of the belt, works fine for me.

Is the intention for this weight to be ditchable?

I have seen the XScuba velcro pockets used with a lanyard added to the weights for easier removal.

I have used them on my belt for almost 100 dives with nothing close to an incident.

Pete.

Ditto what Pete said - I've used the XS pouches for over 100 dives now as well and no problems - I can get a 6# hard lead weight in each one without problems (they advertise as 5# max)

Aloha, Tim

James,

Those look nice, but how do you attach them to your BPW? I was playing around with my DR BPW with 12" ditchable weight belt. Even under non-panic condition, I had a lot of difficult trying to learn how to dit them. On the other hand, I was able to ditch the weight on my ScubaPro Knighthawk very easily.

Thanks
Minh
