Since 1992 I have been in Cozumel and seen crocs all the time, and NEVER heard of an attack on a human. Last week an American lost an arm while relieving himself in the Cancun Lagoon. That alone in not worrisome but more recently there have been two croc attacks on the golf course up north in Cozumel and one on a swimmer in Caleta harbor... and most recently in the God Damned swimming pool at Paradise Beach Resort. I am sure thatt he Cozumel Chamber of Commerce would prefer that I be quiet about this but the fact is that the Crocs' here are getting more and more comfortable around humans and may consider them food or aggressive as you might prefer.
Now, these are not Nile or Austrailian Salt Water Crocs but they are big enough to be dangerous and it is my preference that no Cozumel visitor becomes a victim. Tp prevent that, just stay away from swampy waters, by many yards, and never take little children with you of you are. And certainly don't swim in any beach clubs at night.
Lots of more info of you want, but please don't give Cozumel a bad name by being a victim.
