If this is the tug I'm thinking of NO it is not worth spending an entire weekend on it. it is barely a shell of half of a boat so one dive is plenty.
You are right, Ted. We are talking about the same wreck and you wouldn't want to spend an entire weekend on it. But it is worth a dive. As Greg said, there are a few more shore sites around the area.
There is also the Old Docks @ Glen Haven & Empire, which is not very far from Traverse City. I have not dove there yet so I cannot tell you if it would be worth the trip.
Lance, You may want to consider a charter boat to Manitou Passage Preserve. I have dove on the 3 Brothers and the Francisco Morazon, both @ South Manitou Island. The 3 Brothers is worth a dive & would fit your reqirements.
If you are cosidering a trip to the area, I would contact Scuba North for more info.

in marquette there is several small tugs sunk off the docks in the harbor. 20' max. Kinda cool to play on also some awsome shore diving around black rocks also in marquette. I would also suggest tobermory ca. i just got back from there a week ago we had some 75'+ viz. Yes that was on the deep wrecks but the viz on the shallow ones are always great too. G&S runs charters to the shallow one all the time i would call Perry and talk to him at g&s watersports. good luck.

Thanks Greg. Can you tell me if those sunken boats are marked? Are they hard to find if you have never been there before? This sounds like it has some possibilities being easy and all. Thanks for your help.

The Elmwood is very easy to find (in between a few moorings), The Haserot Beach grouping is also easy to find as the darkened images from the 3' dropoff give it away and the other (The Brick) one (off a small launch facility north of Acme) in 23' of water. It's about 100 yards of the shore.

You could do all three in a day with time to relax in the evening.
