Has anyone else been watching this terrific series on Discovery? All of them have been excellent (sure wish I had HD and a huge telly!), but I have (natch) really enjoyed the "Shallow Seas" and "Deep Oceans" episodes (plan to buy those when available on DVD). The opening segment of "Deep Oceans" has bait fish swarming around a Whale Shark for protection from tuna...as the Whale Shark dives deep, the tuna pounced on the bait....then the Whale Shark returned and sucked down a mouthful of fish himself! The photography was outstanding! To be there capturing such amazing activity...

the caves one was on last night... amazing footage!! i saw that whale shark one too... i have my Tivo set!

Yeah, as soon as she saw the pile of bat guano covered in cockroaches, my girlfriend left the room. And who knew birdsnest soup was made from their spit? LOL!

I just got set up with HD programming last week and I've started to watch the re-runs of Planet Earth.

Amazing is all I can say..:14:

Yes, I've been watching it in HD, although I have a backlog of the non-ocean episodes on my HD tivo. LOL

Great series. I won't buy the DVDs, though... I want it in HD! I'll buy it once they come out with a [blue-ray / HD-DVD] version. (Once the dust settles and a winner is proclaimed, that is...)

It was to my knowledge that they are releasing the HD blue-ray discs of this series.... that's what I heard anyway... We were disussing this on another forum. Since I do not have a stand alone blue-ray player or PS3, I'll hold off on buying them.

I love this series, too!!

Every one I watch becomes my favorite!

All the time-lapse photography was cool! The giant sunflower star chasing hundreds of little urchins...
