Plane Ticket!

So, I've been looking into going to Honduras for a dive trip.

When I first went to look for tickets, they were only $350.

Now I can't find any for less than $700.

What happened? What am I doing wrong?

Oh, I live in Atlanta, if that would have anything to do with it.

Ummm, Oil prices, airlines going broke, wow, no idea! Lol, kidding, it sucks for all of us! $700. is only a dream for me!

When are looking to go? Christmas time means higher fares as well as buying with only a fews weeks left.

Have you tried using sites like farecompare.com to help you compare between airlines? Then you can go and purchase the ticket directly from the airline. Yapta.com will also track and alert you when a particular itinerary drops in price.

But yeah...generally speaking...fares are very high now compared to last winter.

$350 ATL to Roatan would be a steal. $700 is typical.

I have been looking at airfare for Roatan for a few years now and haven't found anything close to that cheap! I did see something from Houston-Roatan in the mid-$500s a few weeks ago but that was only for a specific week in Oct. Plus we would have to fly to-from Houston so price would still end up at $700-900 for us. Starting in January, prices go up to $900-1200 for us from ABQ-Roatan!!!! Uggghhhh. Really sucks when the airfare costs more than a week at Cocoview! I am hoping the high $$$$ will come down between now and the spring!

Did you by any chance not notice that you looked at a one way fare, not round trip?
We sometimes can get in the $550 range from Houston but generally is the 700's

I've had that happen. I was shopping for Lubbock to Cozumel tickets 6 months ago with my bud at his store right before closing. Had been seeing $500+, ran across a $350 fare that needed work to book, but we wanted to go to dinner so I thot I'd get back to it later. Never saw it again. We paid $600+.
