Placencia Dive Op Recs & Reef Conditions (including vs Ambergris).

Looking for recent info on Placencia including any di op recs and reef conditions. Had been planning a week trip to Ambergris and after hearing mixed feedback on dive ops and reef conditions now considering Placencia. Any feedback or experience is great.

Years ago (2007) we dived with Seahorse which at the time was run by Brian Young Jr. They were as rigid as a scuba cylinder and by the time we left my wife wanted shove one up their arse. If I was to return I would dive with Splash. I have heard nothing but positive reviews.

Now where I would recommend staying is the Trade Winds. Ms Janice Leslie was great. Simple cabanas right on the water. She was great. And recommended we have a chat with Brian Jr about our diving.

Definitely time your visit with the snapper spawning and whale sharks.
