Kenabucs and I dove the channel/pool between Shapleigh Island and Goat Island around the site of a 1690s shipwreck looking for bottles today. Found a few bottles but mostly saw newer bottles with screw tops. Saw some huge starfish and even some scallops.
Even though we planned to hit high tide going into slack tide, current in the channel still forced us out towards the main river channel. I ended up surfacing on one side of the channel and Kenabucs on the other with no way to get back together. Ken had the dive flag so I could follow his progress. He did not see me though (I was up on a lobster fishermans pier waving and yelling like crazy by the time he reached shore). Fortunately, as he was talking to 911 about my disappearance he was walking towards me over the bridge. About half way across he heard me yelling and was able to call off the rescue.:shakehead Vis was in the less than 10 foot range and water temp was around 40.
We had planned a second dive at the Sarah Long and went over there but didn't like the looks of things so called it on the "one adventure per day" rule.
