Hi

We have been to Palau this July and did a trip with the Tropic Dancer. In general we liked it a lot and I would suggest to dive Palau from a LOB. I absolutely loved the hook-in dives (Peleliu, Blue Corner, Ulong Channel...) and was almost a bit sad that we "had" to do other dives and didn't have stronger currents (between full and new moon)... What i missed a bit was the fish schools when not doing a hook-in dive but on the other hand we saw around 30 to 40 sharks at Ulong Channel. I was suprised that the corals are really healthy.. We were very lucky with the weather and almost never had rain. Unfortunately visibility wasn't too good and for taking pictures I had my problems with backscatter..

We combined the wide-angle region with Anilao for the muck-diving. Pictures can be found on my flickr-account: https://www.flickr.com/photos/129373933@N02/albums

For more information pm me :-).

Cheers

You got some nice shark shots in there! We were there in late March-early April and had primarily good weather. We were over the full moon so got a pretty good ride through Ulong Channel. We actually looked for bad viz in German Channel in the hopes of finding Mantas but struck out. I would like to do Palau from a LB some day. We were land based at Palau Royal Resort right next to where they park the Tropic Dancer and it's sister ship. We dove with Fish n Fins and they were fine.

I was there in March and also had a pretty good ride at Ulong. I dove with Palau Dive Adventures (PDA) and really liked them. Apparently they liked me too (what's not to like? Tee hee) so I'm heading back there next April and May to teach two two-week classes in marine ecology in which participants will dive with PDA. I've dived on five continents and many other places around the world and Palau was the best destination I've been to (although I haven't met a dive site I didn't like)
