sexy.....very ergonomic. Shiny! I love stainless. is this the guy from long Beach...or was there, and he designed it, made it?

What's the back story on that rig?

Very nice, indeed.

Just had to come back and look at how beautiful it is once again until I have my own to druel on.

Thanks all for the interest in my plate.
I'll answer your questions.

I'm from Santa Rosa, California. That's up in the north above San Francisco.
I originally designed the rig for commercial use where the configurations generally are very minimal. I used one for bottom work on boats and underwater mechanical where you need full freedom of movement to perform the tasks at hand. When I work with it I use it with no wing. I developed it out of frustration with the conventional backplates because of the uncomfortable fit and bad shoulder strap placement. I styled it somewhat after an old backpack design where the shoulder straps come out of a single slot and form a Y that really fits your traps nice and secure without cutting into your neck. The system is clipless or Hogarthian as some like to call it. Rigs without clips actually go back to the very beginning of diving.

This rig worked so well that I decided to develop it further and fit a 30# donut wing to it. I now use it exclusively for all my diving. I don't own a jacket bc and my OMS backplate is hanging on a wall in the garage along with the rest of my obsolete dive gear that I have displayed as a "historical" diving equipment.
I have since developed a set of adapters that allows me to use doubles with it. I tested it out in Monterey a few weekends ago and it exeeded my expectations both in comfort and performance. Next I will fit it to rebreathers as I have already had many requests to.
After showing to many dive shop owners and employees I have become disgusted with a majority of dive shops due to their:

A. Attitude. They won't give me the time of day.
B. Commitment to the conventions of the current equipment standard.
C. They are a tech shop but already have to many plates in the store and are afraid
that my product will dilute sales of their other stuff. Not to mention the flack they
would take from other manufacturers.
D. Are too stupid to understand what a simple and fantastic design this is.
E. They like the product but don't feel there is enough mark up in it and would rather
make more money selling junk to newbies that know nothing and are ripe for the
picking.

I will be getting my website up and running very soon. In the meantime I can be reached at my office: (707) 538-1276
or my cell number is: (707) 318-2577

I will travel and do demos for dive clubs or dive groups also. I will be handling this rig exclusively so I will have a hands on approach and personal contact with my customers. I like for people to be able to try this unit out before they decide to get one.

Thank you

Humuhumunukunukuapua'a:
Hey Eric, too bad you aren't going to make it Sunday. I was hoping to check one out in person. Next time, hopefully :D

Gregg
Yeah I know, it sucks!
I guess my wife told me about going down to USF to check out my daughters college but I must have been day dreaming about diving and didn't hear her. That happens a lot.
We've got all spring and summer coming up so I plan to make up for it.

Right on...I'm looking forward to it! :D

Sunday looks like it's not going to be optimal anyway. Next time we'll have a full-blown picnic, barbecue, beers, sunny weather...heck maybe even some diving ;)

Cheers :D

It's frustrating getting people interested in something different. A website and word of mouth is really the way to go.

Best to you!

Sea ya!
