I hit these Yankee Clipper Erojacks today from a private boat.
it was pretty cool.
An easy yak trip from the beach, and certainly within my shore diving range.
I did not know of the barge at the north end until reading the accompanied link.
I did not know it was there until just a few minutes ago.
DOH!
A reason to go back.

One thing folks...
If you go..
PLEASE
Bring a trash bag.
I got 2 bottles, 3 beer cans, and a bunch of aluminum foil off of the groin today.
This place appears to catch everything but the sand!!

Chug
Will be back for the barge!
Thanks for posting the info.

Jenny, you can dive anywhere off the beach off Ft. Lauderdale, excluding areas close to Port Everglades jetty and the fishing pier. I think they both have a 100 yard offset by state law. The guarded beach areas do have some rules but they still allow diving as long as you comply with them. They are summarized at the following link:

Dive Spot - Northern Erojacks and Barge Wreck - FKA Kiteboarding Forums

Good news, went out yesterday and shot range marker photos for several points on the jacks and one for the barge. They should make finding both fairly straight forward at least in daylight. The marks for the west end of the jacks are particularly easy and fairly sensitive too. I plan to process and post the photos later on today. Will also include GPS coordinates for folks on boats. The jacks show up a lot better from the surface in clearer water as you run over them by the way.

Excellent point about picking trash up Chug. In some areas they do that on every dive. Noticed Hawaiians are particularly good at this and it shows! I saw a rag someone threw over wrapped around a staghorn coral stand. It is great to see staghorn coming back but to have crap drifting across the bottom take it out? Not good, if we all go after the trash when we dive, may well make a difference.
