I've been diving for several years now and am interested in getting into underwater photography. Does anyone have any recommendations for purchasing a camera? I don't want anything too cumbersome, and I'm by no means a photographer. Do you recommend taking a course on photography first?

Howdy!

Welcome to the board!!!

My husband and I just took a photography class last night at our PADI shop. In our opinion it was helpful. We use a digital camera but, you can still find a lot of people out there who use film cameras as well.

Sea and Sea along with Sealife make cameras for those of us who are just getting started. You can also find a "land" camera you like and get a housing for it.

I agree with Don - head over to the photo area for more info.
