Lots and Land for Sale in Punta Arrecifes, Cozumel, Quintana Roo $10,000
From Here:
Cozumel Eastside project Punta Arrecifes has opportunities for boutique hotels and high end residential developers.
The entire project is 12.7km of ocean frontage and the best properties will be selected first. 6,450 rooms will be the maximum density and 49,400 acres is set aside for a National Park. This is a $7 Billion dollar project scheduled for 3 phases. Initial offerings start at $10,000 per linear meter of ocean front with pre-approved density of one room per two linear meters. So land cost per room is $20,000.An inland waterway is planned for the entire length of the project. An equistrian center, two marinas, amphibias aircraft facility, marine wildlife center, championship golf, wind farms, education centers and beach clubs are planned. This project will be mostly eco-driven with the enviroment in mind every step of the way.

Holy sh&t!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can't imagine the kind of infrastructure upgrades this will require.........power/sewage/clean water/trash disposal............no wonder people are worried.......

And then when Wilma vs 2.0 comes by........lol.............buh bye 7 billion investment.

If you read through the supposed development plans you find that they intend to have wind farms and solar for power, water desalination plants and their own sewage treatment plants. Seems very ambitious to me in today's economy.

No need to worry it says this:

This project will be mostly eco-driven with the enviroment in mind every step of the way.

I do wonder about the inland waterway running the length of the project. Digging almost 8 miles of inland waterway? Puhleeze........

Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight........

Can you imagine the amount of palm greasing and payoffs that this will require.......lots of people will be set for life for saying ok to this!

Extremely ambitious.

If it actually ever got built as proposed the buyers would be very wealthy, the island of Cozumel would be a very different place.

'Valet diving' will mean your butler comes with you on the dive.

I so hope it fails before they dig.

Another consideration is the garbage all the new residents will add to the existing dump(s) PLUS based my observations of other construction sites all the garbage the builders create And from their workers, who in general don't know the purpose of a garbage can or bin. They hire general labourers from the poorer areas of Mexico who will work in unsafe conditions for relatively small pay vs what the locals workers would accept. When the Plaza Los Glories was being remodeller to become the Palace I saw things that would have had the site shut down in Canada or the US plus the vacant property across the street looked like a garbage dump thanks to the workers, and it wasn't cleaned up when the project ended. More residents = more garbage, and the little island can't handle a major increase there anymore than the current sewage system can.

Oh, but the island will receive 3 new public beaches in the new development. Mighty generous of them.
