A corollary to "there are two types of divers: those who pee and those who lie," is "All divers pee in their wetsuits, the hardcore ones do it before the get in the water."

I do not use marine heads on the dive boats out here, I don't need to find out if I am up to date on my shots. I typically pee as soon as I enter the water, or, if it's in all male charter I just pee off the stern. I will happily pee in anything 5mm or less and unhappily pee in anything 5mm or above.

Holy crap this pee talk. I'll get slammed for saying "do a search", it's all been discussed for years before on SB. All of you pee when you want. I have a sensitive bladder and suffer at times, but have yet to pee my 7 mil. C'mon guys, somebody say let's google the warhammer maneuver so we'll stop talking about PEE.

Okay, cold water, warm water, hydration + diving = needs to pee. Wether in a wetsuit or not when you get the urge it only gets worse if you try not to. From my limited experience I try not to eat any asparagus the day before due to obvious reasons. I also cut down a little on the morning pot of coffee. Do I do it, hell yeah, there is no glory in unnecessary PAIN !

It is natiural to pee in your wetsuit. I pity those who come aboard the boat, peeing down their legs, because they cannot pee in their wetsuit. Also, it is very painful for those who do not have this ability. As far as rentals go, I don't use them, ever. You can't depend on the operator to really clean rental wetsuits and there are those with skin problems which I do not want to contact. Same goes for regs. You cannot be sure that they have been sanitized. I've always wondered how many people go home after a trip using rentals and come down with some sickness which they can't account for. Etequette? What's that? If you have to pee then pee.

the warhammer...really? not really pee in the suit related... I was hoping to stay on topic, but I did open it up, so my bad.

It's not a matter if you do or if you don't pee in your suit.
It's not a matter of right or wrong.
Some do some don't.

despite it being brought up for years, there are new members daily who may not have had the rundown of the pee stuff yet. I did search for "peeing in your wetsuit" before posting and nothing came up.

for all of you who dive on their own and are happy to rinse (or not) their own pee suits, more power to you, but as DM's....not a pleasurable experience

and yes there is pee etiquette on most dive boats I have been on.. I am willing to bet those who pee in your suits pee in theshower as well- probably why you have yellow toenails..if you just looked, you already knew.

good diving to you all, I have requested to have this thread be removed, thanks for all the seemingly good input.

What is wrong about peeing in the shower??? :dontknow: Now the tub is a different story.... :D

Back when I used the 7mm in the local quarry it was a usual part of the second half of the dive to get warmed up again! :shocked2:

First thing is DON'T tuck your suit in your boots! :rofl3:

FLUSH, FLUSH, FLUSH! Nothing like watching someone standing on the boat with yellow liqued seeping out of their legs! :shakehead: (which also goes to show that they possibly aren't properly hydrated!)(or had a good vitamin B that morning)

DON'T eat asparagus beforehand, unless you want to DIE! :(

I've peed in both of my wetsuits...and have to remember what I'm doing when I'm in my dry suit! (not getting a pee valve, but you really need to time and plan better than with the wetsuit!)

The final piece of advice.... That "sink the stink" stuff works! USE IT!!!
