Dove at Pebble yesterday afternoon. beautful day - vis was crap, however...5-10 feet....water temp = 55.

The highlight was a huge school of stripers we encountered -- felt like we were at a railroad crossing waiting for a long freight to pass by -- it must have taken 30 seconds from the time I noticed them passing in front of us for the entire school to pass by. Definitely upwards of 100 fish.

There was also a dead seal on one end of the beach...

That's the second dead seal I've seen/heard of in a week up there. There was a juvenile washed up on OGB last weekend. I wonder what's going on out there.

Sorry you had such bad vis, Chris. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

I trucked down to ole' Brant Rock with boat in tow. Cast off and headed out to the great blue horizon when the waves started tossing us around like a toy we had to call the whole trip (note to self get a bigger boat). Thought about heading North but figured it would all be a mess. Hind sight 20/20. Glad you had a good dive.

There seemed to be quite a bit of surf up our way as well -- Old Garden and Back Beaches actually had some sizable waves (NE wind). Even at southerly-facing Pebble, there was a fair amount of surge on the bottom.

Regardless, it was nice to get wet. I hadn't been diving since August....

I was down in Sandwich Town Beach on Saturday and noticed a similar schooling of Striped Bass. I was thinking there was around 20+ fish, most where likely to small to keep (rod'n reel). They appeared to be swimming around me rather than the railroad crossing you experienced. but it was pretty cool either way.

Anyone have a guess as to where the good diving this weekend might be? We thinking about diving on Sunday - Cape Ann, Rhode Island, or anywhere in between.

The present marine forcast says a south wind and 2 to 4 foot seas. North facing sites would be the best bet, right now.
