Well I'm pretty bummed out. I haven't been able to get underwater for a MONTH, which is about ten times longer than I've gone dry since I got certified. Finally I managed to squeeze in a day trip on the Peace, and it's all I've been thinking about all week. But I just got a call from them...they've canceled tomorrow's trip. :( I guess there's some bad weather forecast -- high winds, big swells.

Well, good on them for doing the right thing and canceling when they know there won't be good diving conditions. But I'm just heartbroken. It seems like the world keeps lining up obstacles in my way to keep me from diving!

Okay, enough whining I guess. I think I'm just going to crawl into bed and sob for a while. :116: :116: :116:

Sorry about your trip. Maybe it will be better this weekend! I hope so, I'm going to Catalina to try out some new lights on my video camera.

Just do a shore dive!!!

If the swell looks a bit large, your best bet is Vets.

Have Fun :D

There are 12 foot waves at Laguna today. Forcast for Anacapa tomorrow looks like long-period 6-7 foot swells and 24-30 knot winds.

Well I'm not much into trying to dodge 12-foot waves. I think I'll just stay in bed and sob some more. PLEASE let it be good this weekend at Leo Carrillo!

There were not 12 foot waves at Laguna today .. they were at Trestles :D

We were pulling in some sets that where easily double overhead at Uppers this AM. This is very long period energy from that massive Southern-hemi system that was positioned in our swell window last week. This stuff is coming straight out of the South.

The winds we'll be seeing over the next 24 hours is something totally different, though. These are from a local system. This is the high pressure that normally fills in behind the system.

Regardless, probably not a good time to be in the ocean for the next day or so.

Well, Catalina's leeward side has experiened some swell (including at the park), but is still quite diveable. I'm glad I don't do much beach diving under the conditions you brave folks on the mainland experience! I guess I'm just a BWW (Big Wave Wussy). Sorry to hear that the Peace had to cancel the trip.

See, LeeAnne, I told you shoulda joined me last weekend. :P

Yeah, yeah, don't rub it in....

I do hope they are able to find those poor people in Newport Beach.
