PCB this weekend. Need some help

I will be in PC at the Coral Reef this weekend and need to know what is available dive wise. Should I spend my time at the jetties, dive boat, or what. Never been diving in PC so I have no idea what to do. Will I be able to spearfish around the jetties or anywhere close? TIA

You can't spearfish at the jetties. Florida law states you have to be something like 100 yards offshore to spearfish.

You'll want to dive the Jetties at "high slack tide". Check the tide tables before planning a dive there.

If you want a boat dive, several operators there. I went out with Pat Green on Panama City Dive Charters - Scuba diving charters, specializing in wreck and spearfishing dives off Panama City and Panama City Beach, Florida. a few weeks ago and would reccomend him.

Wish we could join you but the hayfield in our yard must have attention!

Unfortunately the divers that will be with me don't want to spend any money so it looks like just the jetties for me.....any tips on knifing flounder? I need some help as i have tried to knife one before and it just swam off the knife by cutting itself in half.

If you go to the jetties at St. Andrew's St. Park, be very, very, very cautious of the currents.

They can be very vicious!!!

well I know you can't spearfish within 100 yards of shore, but I haven't seen any rules about "knifing". I guess it's legal.


want to keep them from swimming off, it's simple. knife them in the head.
