Parts-for-Life Program

I'm in the market for a new regulator set. My current Aeris set is 15 years and now difficult to find parts for. It was a budget purchase the year we got certified.

I'm considering the Scubapro MK25/S620ti with the free octo from the current promotion.

I read on the pinned Parts-for-Life post that you need a "full set" of Scubapro gear - regulators, BC, and computer - to qualify for the program.

Is this true? So the fact that I'm very satisfied with my BC and computer means I cannot get into the Parts-for-Life program because they are not Scubapro? I'm hoping that I misunderstood the post.

I feel like that's fair for regulators, especially considering the Scubapro window is 24 months. I was going every two ("ish") years for my Aeris set even though they recommend 12 months.

I assume that applies for the items to service selectively — like if you can self service your bcd and you just wants the PFL for your regs, then service the regs via SP service shop on time
Haven’t tried so maybe they ask for all of it to be serviced on time thru them

I know if I want free parts for my Aqualung regulator, I need to get it serviced annually. I'm a vacation diver that stores my equipment in a cool, regulated environment. It's cheaper for me to pay for the parts every five or so years.

SP REQUIRES regulator service every two years by an authorized SP dealer. You pay for labor but get free parts kits - not negligible - Mk17 and Mk19 kits are really expensive. Miss a service and you’re mostly out of luck.

Now I don’t feel the pressure to be on time every two years because I’m not buying a BC and computer so don’t qualify for the program anyway.

There's an oring on my injectors to keep the oil out or from burning on top of the combustion chamber

Can anyone tell me what is so special that happens to diving regulatiors

And I'm celebrating 25yrs of a multitude of engine orings on another car

The orings sealing the oil cooler to the block, hey the transmission and the air conditioning go good too


And now they have so many of you convinced of service they don't even bother to entice with free parts


So just keep on servicing, as I get my parts from the reg guy, that took your parts, out of your regulators
