I think I know the answer (don't do that!) but does anyone travel with the OM-1 inside the UH-OM1 housing? It would make packing a bit easier, but I can imagine it isn't really designed for the bumps you would get in carry-on luggage.

Do you take the port off the housing and put the cap in?My OM-1 travels a lot and is inside the AOI housing (without a lens of course) and has been on about 25 international trips in a backpack.

I take the port off and use the housing cap. There is also no lens on the camera body. I also don’t have the o-ring in the housing but I remove them from the housing and the ports when I store them anyway.Do you take the port off the housing and put the cap in?
