Fog was hugging the coastline from Rocky Point south, so we dived on the west side of Palos Verdes this morning. The surface water at the Landing Craft was dark and green. It cleared up a bit at fifty feet, but only enough to become bright green. Visibility was a hazy twelve feet with the usual 52° water. I don't think it ever changed one day in Palos Verdes this year.

How do the poor garibaldi mate at such freezing temperatures?

Awesome pics! People who believe that Southern CA has balmy water temperatures don't know what they're talking about. The water in CA can be downright chilly. Nearly as cold as Puget Sound water. At least the temps when I was up there during an El Niño year.

On Saturday, Catalina/Farnsworth Bank was 70 on the surface and 59 at depth, 110fsw +/- Oh, and was blue, very blue :) Great vis, as well.

Rub it in. I knew I should have snuck over and got on the other boat!
