A quick question, that may seem a bit dumb. Are sex bolt type bolts required to hold together an Oxycheq ultralight plate and wing or would the cambands holding them to the tank be sufficient, with using bolts being more secure but not necessary? I ask because I've got a trip coming up next week and am currently waiting on a buckle and sex bolts arriving from the States (dispatched but may or may not be here in time). The buckle is easily borrowed if necessary but I'm not sure if I'd be able to get the bolts in time and don't really want to take it all that way and not be able to use it.
The planned diving is single tank, sub 30m, so nothing too arduous. The wing and plate seem to hold together securely enough on land but I'm not so confident what they would do getting compressed at depth and then using the wing for buoyancy. I'm not looking for anyone to tell me a sub-optimal practice is a good idea, I'd just appreciate a general risk assessment or if anyone has experience with this. Previously I've only used wings with twinset diving and only S/S backplates, so I'm not totally sure how well this works.
