Hi Gang,
I need some advice on what to do here...
I purchased 2 Oxycheq Raider IIIs earlier this year, and have had all of about 2 hours of water time with them because they quickly went back to the manufacturer because both front lenses leaked. They repaired them and sent them back to the dive shop and the dive shop owner (as he should) decided to pressure test them to make sure they were indeed fixed. He took them down to 60 feet and guess what - they leaked again. He took them to 150 feet (they're rated to 250) and the lenses imploded, so again he sent them back to the manufacturer for repair.
Oxycheq has been very professional and is taking accountability, even saying "what does the customer want to do? We can do whaever they need us to.". I think the design premise is good and would very gladly help them get the product to a more "consumer-ready" status - in general I think they brand is good and the company has been very "stand-up" with regard to this situation and my other Oxycheq products (which are all EXCELLENT).
The real "rock and a hard place" for me is that my dive shop is getting kicked hard by the economy and is either going out of business or selling outright, so the relationship with Oxycheq may weaken in that case.
I'd rather have a pair of good, working lights, but for the money on these two I'm beginning to think I could get a pretty good cannister light or something higher-end...if I were to go that route, would anyone have any recommendations?
If anyone from Oxycheq is reading this, I'd *really* like to work this out with you in a way that is "win-win"...please get a hold of me.
Regards,
-S
