Bigblue makes some insanely bright lights. We got a few of the 15000 lumen jobs at the aquarium I volunteer at. Wow they're intense! Burn time is horrible though, only about an hour. They should have made can lights out of the heads so you could take more battery with you.

36*2,8A*3,7V*1h = 372,96 Ah *1,2(loses at least ) = 447,55 Wh almost for driving scooter

so to drive that lamp 1 h at full you need at least 448 Ah battery pack ( i did not calculate red XPE which also needs 10 *0,8-1,0A *3,1V == 25W )

hmmm :D

so show me that battery pack inside 108mm diameter and 152 mm long tube with electronic , leds & front glass

to answer myself bigblue uses battery pack for that light from their no spec list 6* x 32650 ....

(as I see top top battery on market have cca 6Ah )

Welcome To Bigblue Dive Lights

which gives 6* 3,7V * 6 Ah =133Wh which is 1/3 from advertised :confused::confused::confused:

so 100% is only 33% on max on full power - mean true full power battery pack will be depleted in 133Wh /447,55W = 0,29h = cca 20min

technicaly light might have 15000 lm by CREE laboratory spec but in reality are many things against (battery, BMS from battery pack (prevent

overheating , overdischarging , to high current ) , led heat management , glass looses , electronic looses , PWM management )

So after all where is trick ? Anthony Stark Technology :cowboy: ?

I think Light for Me and Yellow Diving (both European companies) came up with HID alike LED primary lights long time ago.
As they say picture is worth more than 1000 words below some comparison videos we have shot years ago.

Yes I know I'm resurrecting a 5 year old thread.

What has changed in the world of lights in the last five years as far as HID vs LED?

HID has been completely replaced by LED, but LED has hit a wall. I don’t think we’ll see any further improvements for some time.

HID is gone, and the good LED's from 5 years ago have not changed a whole lot. The best are still made by Underwater Light Dude if you need a canister, especially if you want a heated vest with it.
