Despite the hype and horror stories on ScubaBoard, getting to and from Sorong isn't the challenge it once was a few years ago.

I didn't have trouble getting there though getting back out wasn't that easy!

Even so, I hate red eye flights and will take any routing in the future that will help me avoid such to get there.
Because I was so weary and arrived very early, I skipped the breakfast buffet at the Meridian and booked 4 hours in one of its rooms for $45. Well worth it to me.

Eh. I look at a map, and it's *so close* to where I live - like seriously, I could fly there in about 90 minutes directly...But it still takes 5 flights and a day and a half each way to get there!

For us it's 56 hours from the time we take off to the time we arrive at the resort. There are 2 9 hour layovers in there. 1 in Istanbul the other in Jakarta.
