Greetings all this is my first post to this board.....I wish it were on a positive note.
I am an Advanced rescue diver with cavern cert and logged my 70th dive last night in 18months. I use the oceanic Dx4 w/delta 3 including enviro kit. My problem is that I cannot seem to catch my breath underwater on my last 3 dives. THe first dive I noticed it on was ginnie Springs.....Swam a gainst the current so I chalked it up to over breathing the reg. Second Dive Blue Springs, After walking up stream we rested for a good 10 min before diving, at about 60 feet I couldnt get my breath and found the urge to take deeper breaths. At 82 ft I called the dive for my self because I felt like I could not get enough air, I made sure the adj knob on the Delta 3 was fully opened..... I went up to 20 feet and waited for my other 2 dive buddies to come up but I still felt the same at 20 ft. I chalked that one up to reg having 50 dives on it before annual service. I am thinking that maybe my IP was too low to meet the depth demands.... Dive last night Living Seas Epcot 25 ft deep using a new regulator I had the same problem my chest feels tight and I just dont feel like I am getting enough air and I fell like I have to take a deep breath every 3 breaths. Is there something medically wrong with me? Is this a mental thing? Last night I noticed that it felt like I had gas and a small pain on the left side of my body. More discomfort then pain. you know like when you eat taco bell on an empty stomach. I have taken that oceanic down to 137 and never have had a problem. This has mentally crippled my diving espically in the overhead enviroment.....As the more seasoned divers know once your mind does not think it is getting enough air it starts to think in a different way as cavers know in an overhead enviroment it will take everything to keep your mind from paninc, and its not something that can be solved by passing a long hose. Also I live in the central Fl area and I am looking for a Primary care Doc that has or treat Divers... Can you all please shed some light on this..Has this ever happened to anyone else. The Oceanic reg is in service right now....
Thanks
