I was disappointed to see they were moving the show to Jan. 16 - 19, 2005 I think it will keep the smaller vendors from coming and possibly have a negative effect on the quality of the show, as well.

Had a nice time, even if I didn't get to stay as long as I'd like. Tried to find Jules64, with no luck. Checked the LDS booth & Illinois Scuba Council booth. I wonder how many Scubaboard members I walked right past & didn't even know it. Next year we'll have to wear our GLWC shirts.

I know friends of mine that drive from Detroit every year say they won't make the drive due to the January weather.

I was at Illinois Council Booth Sat. from 1-3, I was at the LDS booth off and on thru the other parts of the day Sat. On Sunday, I went to PADI members forum in the am, we didn't go to the Cubs game due to the weather. So we cut out early.

I met Panzer70 and ran around with Crazy Dave a bunch. I am so ashamed of this though. While I was at the Ill. Council booth, I see someone and am thinking how he looks so familiar, but I can't quite make the connection. Later in the day we are running thru the habitrail to take stuff to the car, and it totally dawns on me. IT WAS REEFRAFF. I felt :bonk:

Hey, they couldn't get you to stop dancing and come down off that table, I wasn't about to interfere! ;)

Sorry I missed you, we did stop by a couple of times to say hello to folks that we knew - too bad I didn't know that I knew more folks than I thought! Good on you for putting some time in for ICSSD. I've worked that booth myself in past years and it can be a little drudgy, but it's an excellent resource for new divers looking to connect with a wider world of divers.

Actually, I enjoyed it. Pushing local diving is something I can do. I dive here, I like it, and when people stopped by and seem interested, I could share my honest enthusiasm with them.

One other observation. I have only been diving a couple of years, but it is amazing how quickly the circle of dive friends/acquaintances grows. I have met so many nice people thru diving. It is a small world at times.
