PICKENS COUNTY, S.C. -- Teenagers swimming in Lake Keowee on Friday afternoon spotted a body in the water.
Tim Morgan, with the Pickens County Sheriffs Office, said a mans body was found in the lake near Warpath Landing.
Coroner Kandy Kelley identified the victim as 39-year-old James Roach Jr.
Kelley said Roach was found face down in about 3-feet of water about 20 feet from shore.
Kelley did not say how long the body may have been in the water.
The cause of death has not yet been determined. An autopsy will be performed Saturday.
Kelley said Roach's family stated that he did not know how to swim, and was fearful of the water.
