why is it so often that something that is so cute (like otters and koala) will rip your face off?

I was walking tanks towards P3 several months back early in the morning I sat a tank down in the water and turned to walk away but noticed some movement, two otters had there heads up looking at me about ten feet away. We stared at each other for a few and then They took off. Cool experience

They are cute, but I would not leave any shiny objects in the water next to them. Ask the folks who dive Monterey Bay regularly. San Carlos beach otters are known to play with dive gear, chew on things, and sink tubes that hold OC instructor gear.
