My hobbies take it to an extreme:
My wife and I are D.I.N.K's so we have a tremendous amount of free time. Mountain Bike racing is my passion, thus takes a lot of time training (did 11 races this year with the final one next week). Doing 11 races means I was gone for 11 weekends. You think diving is expensive, my bike alone is well over $5 grand. That's just the mountain bike. I train on a road bike. :11:
My other passionate hobby is snowboarding. This doesn't take up nearly as much time since it's weather dependent and I only go on one to two trips out west. Plus my wife ski's, sometimes.
We share one hobby: Golf. We joined a club these past two years so she's been playing ALOT of golf. I do maybe 10 rounds a year. Maybe it's because I'm a 15 handicap and she's a 5. My manly hood gets owned on the golf course. Sometimes they pair us up with another twosome (usually men). They roll their eyes when she walks back to the tips to tee off. I just smile and enjoy the beaten that's about to take place.
I don't watch TV (really, I don't). I do own a PS3, but only play during the off-season. Hobbies keep me busy and active. Since I have so many hobbies, it's up to me to manage them correctly. My wife and I do have very seperate lives, but for now that works for us. Could it come back to haunt us? Maybe, maybe not.
