It was a pleasure to meet you on the boat! The Mighty O is a beauty! I'm so glad you had a wonderful day for a boat ride and dive. :)
The seas weren't as calm on Saturday as Friday so you picked the best day!
I really want to hear more stories about your trip to N.O. That's more likely where you could have gotten into touble.
All the best wishes,
Dana

Great trip report. I will be diving it next weekend form the Y not as well. I hope we have as good of conditions as you did.
Do you remember what the water temps were running at both the surface and bottom ( or as close to it as you got during your dives)?

Hey Dana! Nice to see you here! I had such a great time on the Y-Knot. And I'm really glad I happened to hit the best day for conditions out there.

As for what happened during my girls' weekend in NOLA...Sorry, you know how it is...what happens on Bourbon Street stays on Bourbon Street! I will tell you that it was definitely an interesting experience...there were two conventions in town, both of which had people staying at our hotel. One was a hairdresser's convention, so every time we'd walk down the hallway, doors would open and women with perfectly coiffed hair would come pouring out amid billowing clouds of hairspray. The other was the Anheuser Busch Corporation, so Bourbon Street was wall-to-wall middle-America men in Khakis and polo shirts carrying bottles of Bud...it was a hilarious mix!

But that is totally off-topic...

Anyway, Daveg1 to answer your question about temps, my computer showed 64 degrees at the surface and 61 down at the tower...but things may be warming up there. I was perfectly comfortable in my 7 mil wetsuit, but then I've been diving around here in temps of 54, so it was downright toasty to me!

LeeAnne,

Thanks for the nice report. You sure know how to make a guy from the Illinois Prairie wish he was soaking in salt water over the "Big O".

Can't wait to see it for myself

Doug

Figured as much! Then I know you had a blast! :D

Again, it was a pleasure having you on the boat. All the best wishes to you and safe diving.

Thanks for the info, I'm fine with the 60's. Right now its in the upper 30's here, in summer we only see upper 40's and low 50's.

Great report Leeanne..... It's definitely on my "must do" list...
And ignore the "negative nancy or the putz" that had to be so critical.. Always has to be one in every crowd.....

I don't have any polo shirts and khakis and I really prefer Dixie Beer or Lone Star. My wife is from New Orleans and I am from Louisiana. I am glad you found us so quaint and simple.

Hope that you enjoyed yourself. N

"Quaint and simple"? Did I say that somewhere? Who was quaint and simple?

Anyway, yes I enjoyed myself tremendously...both in Pensacola AND in New Orleans! :D
