Calm seas heading out from Pensacola in the morning. Made it to the site in just over an hour, 2nd dive charter on site, and tied in. Visibility was only about 25' with lots of particulate in the water. 71F on the flight deck, 89F above 25'. Another thermocline in there but we weren't there long enough to get a temp readout on our gauges, probably high 70s. Pretty stiff current all the way down. Had to pull our way down to the tower and then use the tower to keep from being blown off the wreck. 20 minute bottom time with 20 minute deco and surfaced to 2-3' waves. Got back in for dive 2 after about 90 minutes to find the current was even stronger. Had to pull down hand over hand (1st dive it was okay to use one hand to pull down). Came up the line backwards. Another 20/20 dive. Wasn't too fun on our 20' stop. In addition to the current, we also had a lot of surface chop making it difficult to maintain a steady depth. Surfaced to 3-5' waves! Got back in the boat, unhooked an had an almost 2 hour long ride back due to the conditions out there.

Even with the conditions as they were we had 2 good dives on the "O"! And we now have 2 new tech divers! Had 2 backmounters and 3 sidemounters on this trip. We went out with the Niuhi and couldn't have asked for better service from the crew, especially with helping everyone gear up and then getting back on the boat. Thanks Capt Rob and DM Chris!

Wow, too bad about the current, that sounds rough. Glad you still had a good dive.
