Optimal and worst time of the year for the Philippines?

When would people recommend as the best and worst time of the year for a diving vacation in the Philippines?

You will get a lot better answers when the PPD wake up but I was there in March and late May, early June and I'm going back at the end of August. I think the rainy season is right now and Typhoon Caloy had just passed when I got there in May but I've had good weather overall.

Ish, so is that the best or worst?

You do avoid the typhoons this time of year (March-May) but it is also the hottest and dryest. I usually go in mid to late May - on the edge of typhoon season which varies - they can come a little early sometimes. I also go in mid to late November before the Christmas season. It's a little cooler (about 5 degrees F). From December to March is the busy season especially around Christmas and Easter.

The best time of year to go can depend on which island you want to visit and what kind of diving you want to do. The wet/dry seasons can vary throughout the islands for time and intensity.

I think it's a matter of opinion. There is good diving all year.

Diving rocks all year! The better time to get in the water for viz is the February to May. The June - August timeframe can be challenging with typhoons. The September - January is good diving but the Amihan winds can presents rough seas. If you want to see the differences in viz look at our new photo posts for "THE AQUARIUM" and you will see the viz limitations for June-July. If you look at the "Nablag Tugpo" site you will see what viz looks like in December.
