I've got a Probe. It's a huge vest with lots of pockets, D rings and vents. You may want to get a size smaller than you think you'll need. I normally wear L-XL shirts, and I had to get a M-L Probe. Also, the backinflate and wing guys will scoff at you for buying a jacket and will tell you that YOU WILL DIE if you wear it, but I got over it. ;)

I really like my probe. Good trim, lotsa pockets and I agree "HappyFunBoater" on the sizing

I wear one during OW classes. I think its a great rec. BC.

Same as above! And I especially agree with the sizing advice- after losing a few pounds I had to sell it because I was practically swimming in it. oh wait, I guess I was actually swimming in it....

Why do they think you die if you wear the probe? The LDS told me never to buy a backinflate that it would put you face down on the surface.

He was teasing because many who dive a backplate and wing combo are following DIR (Doing It Right) which is a approach to diving (Gear and training and lifestyle) that came out of cave and technical diving which also is used by "DIR" divers in even recreational diving. Some of those that follow DIR are very vocal about DIR being the only safe way to dive....

I actually have DIR training (GUE Cave 1)but only use it in cave and technical, I prefer a BCD when doing recreational diving.

The Probe is a very nice BCD, I am biased....

Oh yeah and I disagree with your LDS:D There are many ways of configuration with a back inflate BCD that won't float you face down, (steel tanks, counter weights among others)

Cerich...Me too... my Probe is perfect for teaching situation

Got one too. I agree on the sizing. I normally wear an XL in everything but wished I’d gotten the L. I have no complaints about the BC. I have to admit I am in the market for a Back Plate Wing BCD for recreational diving though.
