I have a Si-Tech shoulder dump valve from a Bare drysuit. I think I got some sand inside of it.

I'm trying to figure out how to open it and I can't. I've unscrewed the backing portion that holds it inside the suit, but can't seem to unscrew the adjusting part from its base. What do I need to do?

If you look closely you will see the there is a separation line about a 1/4" down from the top of the valve. Look around and you might even find the little indent that allows you to insert the appropriate tool... a butter knife works well... and pop the *cap* off. This allows you to dump the guts out. Remember how it goes back together.

Beautiful. I had tried that, but wasn't sure if I was going to break it.

Thanks :)

If you need drawings of the valves or schematics, email me. What ever you do, be careful taking off the lid and be very careful with removing the thin plastic ring that holds most of the insides in. I've seen more valves destroyed because people break that little ring taking it out.
