Hello fellow diving enthusiasts, I am novice to the world of internet forums, glad I found ya. This site is very cool...

Anyways, back to the subject...,

Do you all know of that movie Open Water?

Well I ran across a show called The Investigators (court-tv) that has an episode documenting the real story of that movie. Sounds exciting, especially if you have seen that movie.

I have got to see this investigation, cuz it won't be the hollywood version, heheh.

That movie was a real turkey. It was so bad, when I went to Blockbuster they asked me, "are you sure you want to rent this?" I told them I was a diver so they said I might like it but noone else did.

They never found their bodies so they have no idea what really happened to them. It is all Hollywood speculation.

yeah... they never did find the bodies

they found some gear that washed ashore, but that was it

i haven't seen the movie, but it seems to be uniformly hated

(the real couple were americans, tom lonergan, 34, and his wife eileen, 29,
who were left by their dive boat off queensland, australia, in 1998)

I rented it...and rooted for the sharks.
Go Sharks, Go!!!

Cool. I wasn't the only one. It's great to be on the winning side. ;)

Just goes to show you the importance of navigation skills.... at least it would give you a fighting chance if you were kickin in towards shore... ;)

I think the only thing I liked about this movie was the end when they found the camera that the shark had eaten.. hah!

It's still has merit for the gratuitous nudity....

I gotta tell you, that actually could have been left out.... I have no problem with nudity (who does?!) but it just didnt really fit into the story at all.. then again it was a story/dialogue that could have been written better by a 3rd grader....

*calms down*

ok, who wants some beer?
