scubastore.com is not authorized Apeks dealer...
Rest easy, I can say for a fact that DiveInn/Scuba Store have factory authorizations from the manufacturers they carry.
They also offer better service, hassle free & speed, than many local shops.
Regulators are duty-free, by the way.

Did you order two Cobras, and two SPGs? You do realise that the Cobra is an air integrated computer that replaces the SPG? Or are you planning on running two HP hoses per reg and using a backup SPG?

Yes, the spg is simply a back-up to the Cobra. Hence the compact model to keep tucked out of the way until the computer decides to head south in the middle of a dive.

Umm, same site right? At least that's where I end up when browsing to diveinn.com...

Or was that supposed to be a subtle joke. :D

I run a backup with my Vytec, but my fiancee doesn't with her Cobra - I trust the air integration feature of my Vytec less, because it requires explicit calibration prior to the dive, whereas the Cobra automatically displays contents once turned on/submerged. Also, the Vytec transmitter/backup SPG combination still means a single HP hose - you would be looking at having two HP hoses on your reg. I would be more inclined to put the spare SPGs into your save-a-dive kit, along with the necessary tools to remove the Cobra console, and install the SPG, which should be nothing more than a pair of wrenches, or a single wrench if you leave the SPG on a spare HP hose, so you don't have to deal with the fiddly little spool inside the HP hose end during boat/roadside changeouts. At most, you cut one dive short, and you have less hose complexity on every dive.

Just a thought!

Not a bad idea. I'll be experimenting with the whole set up once I receive everything. Considering I'd probably call a dive if my computer were to go, even with a backup spg, it's just as easy to leave it off altogether. For me, it was more peace of mind to have a method of validating remaining air, at least until I'm comfortable with the computer. :sheepish:

Yep, I have a Dive Inn affiliation. I represent a couple international outfits, some folks feel more at ease knowing there's someone in the US they can yell at if things aren't done properly.

I have abyss mr22 and iegend lx supreme.I love the legend is on the top.with proton ice you must have extra cold water kit.I dont want to buy again mares, is ok.

It's my understanding that DiveInn is an authorized dealer of the Apeks line of regulators (in Europe). But, does AquaLung / US Divers (in the U.S.) actually honor the warantee?

I'd like to hear from people that have actually purchased a regulator from DiveInn, and have taken them into a local dive shop for annual servicing and/or other warantee servicing.

I've purchased other items from them before, and really like their service...but, I've been reluctant to purchase a regulator from them because having to pay an extra $40~50 bucks every year for parts would quickly eat up any price advantage they have over a local dive shop.

I've had great luck with DiveInn over the past two years. If you want to purchase a Viking Dry Suit, then look no further than Bob3. Bob's integrity in business is second to none.
