Does anyone know why it's so hard to find 1 pound soft weight pouches? I have 2 of them, by Sea Pearl, that I bought in Guam, and since then, I have yet to come across them. Every shop that carries the SP brand has never seen them, and I personally love having them on hand to help people with last minute trim problems.

Several of the dive shops in Houston carry 1# soft weights, Sea Pearls brand as well as a couple of non-name. The only difference is the material the bag is made of.

You can get them on line or at one of their stores here in the south.
I agree they are handy to have.
I made a bunch of 1 lbs weights just for that reason.
I carry 2 or 3 extra lbs with me so I can hand em off to the guys that are under weight.

I'm noticing a trend.

HaoleDiver, in San Jose (I'm assuming NorCal) can't find 1# weights.

Everyone in the south has them.

Seems to me HaoleDiver needs to get in contact with some southern Dive Shops...

Island Hopper, I'd love to get back over there. I still count shooting the blue hole on a clear calm day out of Apra Harbor as my best dive memory (notice the reference in my signature)

And I love the 1 pounders, because I've been on a number of dives where people had to borrow odd weights from others, and ended up off balance, so having the ones tucked in a pocket were great.

We definitely have them in SoCal. They're yellow and I use them all the time.

Go to a gun shop and buy 20 pounds of shot for maybe $12 to $17.....get a yard
of the right material....mine cost <$5.....and make your own. The hardest part
is finding someone that will let you use their sewing machine.

I got mine from Leisure Pro....
