One dead, one in hospital after diving incident
One person is dead and another is in the hospital after an incident this afternoon in the Intercoastal Waterway near Tyndall Air Force Base

Four people were apparently diving from an inflatable zodiac at about 2:30 this afternoon when the incident occurred, U.S Coast Guard Investigators said Thursday.

They said it was a commercial dive and have interviewed the entire crew as well as conducted a drug test on the dive partner.

A safety audit of the commercial dive facility will be conducted Friday, along with other tests to determine the cause of the divers death.

The name of the deceased diver will not be released until next-of-kin is notified.
The investigation is ongoing.

DannyDon, Do you have any additional information on this? The Diver was a buddy of mine, a Retired Master Sergeant, Combat Diver, and Dive Supervisor. He was testing a Re-breather for another Military Unit when it happened.
If not, do you know how to request the results from the Coast Guard?

Sorry, no. All I find are initial news stories usually, and those don't go into depth or followup generally. If we get more, it's usually from people close to incident like yourself.

I suppose more could be requested from the Coast Guard, but I would not know how exactly.

Simple. They don't want members speculating until it's confirmed by a reliable 3rd party.

By members, you mean The Chairman???
