One day to dive...

[RU 4 Scuba?]

Hi all. I am going to be in San Diego in a couple of weeks and set aside one day, 2/22 for diving as it is really the only one that will work out with my schedule. What would you suggest I do for that day? I am on something of a budget, but i figured that maybe a dive or two in the kelp forest or in wreck alley might be fun. Any suggestions about dive ops to go through would be appreciated, as well as any advice in general! Thanks, and happy diving!

Marissa Dive Charters has a 3 tank trip, Yukon, Ruby E, and kelp for $95 and has open seats. That's what I would do. hey RU, wish I had the day off to dive with you... Marissa is my favorite and looks like a good deal for 3 rounded dives.... a close second is both the LoisAnn and WaterHorse if you want to get two dives in. LoisAnn in wreck ally and WaterHorse to the 'Nads to play with the sea lions.

Looks like I will be going on the Marissa on the 22nd per your advice. Best price I've seen so far for 3 dives, one place I found via google were 175 for three. I'm assuming it won't be a problem that I am going to be by myself?

Going solo shouldn't be a problem - you'll meet other divers and can always find someone else to buddy up with. I've gone solo on many similar trips and haven't had a problem buddying up (sometimes as a 3rd). Some boats will let you dive solo if you prefer.

That looks like a great price for this trip - go for it!

I've always been by myself in San Diego. Sometimes I've dived with others, sometimes alone. It will not be a problem for you. Enjoy your visit, great 3 dives.

have you dived the HMCS Yukon before?

If not, you might want to look at it using our dive simulator: you can navigate the Yukon in 3D and have a peek inside the bow and the wheel house too.

Hey all!

Just wanted to say thanks to everyone who reccomended the Marissa. They showed us a very good time above and below the water (some dolphins rode along our bow for a while ) and were very professional and safety oriented. I will definitely be diving with them again.
