Hello All,

I recently discovered a tiny leak at one of my valve burst disc plugs. I ordered a 1 piece replacement, but unfortunately the replacement part I ordered is smaller in diameter than the original plug which is a 3 piece. Additionally, the original plug has a metric head on it which has me wondering if the threads will be compatible with a one piece plug. I am guessing the plug threads are not metric because the neck threads are standard 3/4 " straight thread. So, here are my questions:

The valve is an OMS H valve (H removed and capped) and will be installed in a Faber 100 (3442 psi) tank.

Can just the disc and washer be replaced and reuse the plug?
I think this is what I need, but would prefer to confirm.

Is a one piece assembly available to replace the three piece assembly?
Does anyone know the exact size or p/n.
Any reason not to convert to a one piece?

Thank you,

Couv

Why not just call Northeast Scuba and ask them? :eyebrow: I would hope they know what they sell.

Unfortunately I do not know the answer either.

This is exactly what you need. I used this part a few weeks back to upgrade the working pressure on my older OMS manifold. Just take care to make sure that it is installed in the correct order. Washer-> disk->plug.

Yes, you mainly need the disc. Theres generally two sizes of burst discs 3/8' and 1/2 inch the 3/8' is generally found in the 3 piece configeration and the 1/2' in a one piece. As for the plug always been replaced, well, I have over 200 cylinders all with 3/8' burst disc's in my business and I can assure you we dont replace the plug - ever - we just change the disc and occassionally the washer, and I have never had issues.

I have not seen a 3/8' in a one piece plug, (although to be honest I havent really looked) but if you can get one I cant see any problems with using it.
