Hope someone is able to help me out without going to too much effort - I'm looking for a pocket as small as possible but large enough to fit a few things:

Apollo Stowable snorkel (7” x 2”)
trauma shears (8” max)
Dive Alert air horn (4” x 2”)
sausage (6” x 2.5”)
mirror (5" x 3")
a few small odds and ends

Does anyone have the OMS BCA-266 utility pouch and would you mind taking a ruler to it please? I already searched the internet but could not find its size. Thanks much.

in your case, I would go for the BCA-143 and the dive alert should be installed in the LP hose at the start of the dive and don't risk loosing it trying to install it when waves are hitting you at the surface (remember murphy)

Thanks Mandy but I was hoping for a pouch that went vertically like the BCA-166 and was a little smaller than the 143. The stuff in this pocket will get very, very little use so I wanted a vertical pocket that I could put on the belt way out of the way - by a hip. I decided to put the Dive Alert in a pocket because it too will hopefully never get used, but installed is a possible source of problems. But don't worry - I'll tie it off so it won't get dropped.

I know what you mean, since I don't use all the time many items I carry, specially emergency equipment, but the dive alert, isn't a problem at all, I got installed all the time 3 dive alerts in conbination with the sub alerts (mine, my daughters and my girfriends) and none have ever presented any problems in the 10 or so yrs of use, just my experience.
What I like about the 143 is that it has zippers instead of the velcro closure, but I can agree that it may be a bit big for my taste.

I use my DR 32# weight system as pockets, since I only use 3# soft weights at the bottom of each pocket, I got plenty of space to store things in them, I personally like the internal Drings inside the pockets to which I clip everything except the soft weights, that way if I ever have to ditch the weights, I won't loose all my gear.

If the 266 have an internal Dring, then it would be a good choice, I just don't trust those velcro closures in any pockets.

Good luck and hope you find what you're looking for.
