Has anybody used these? I haven't been able to get any info on them, they seem like a quality item and seem to fit all my tanks well. IMO it is the ideal rig for IDs to change one or both tanks quickly. I've searched SB and the OMS site without any luck. How much are they new? Did OMS stop making them and why? I scored it on Ebay, wasn't even aware a rig like this existed.

I can't tell from the picture and description what you've got there. Is it a rig to make independent doubles? What is the gray set of bars under the cam bands?

Tursiops, the gray bars are what the bolts go through to attach to the plate and the cam bands attach to the bars as well. Haven't seen an OMS one, but it is obviously discontinued as of a few years ago when OMS stopped making pretty much everything. Unlikely the new OMS will bring them back as they aren't particularly popular. I have a set of ID bands similar to that but mine use bent plats to set the spacing between the two tanks. They MIGHT start seeing a bit of a comeback with sidemount as guys might have to put their independent bottles back into doubles on a very rare occasion but I don't see it happening in the near future. I love independent doubles, and love the ability to use my sidemount bottles in backmount when I need to.

$_57.jpg this view better shows its purpose. interesting... I'd likely use it if i was doing ID's...

These are the ideal setup for that too. No tools needs, can change one tank or both, or switch back to a single tank by unscrewing 2 wing nuts and mounting a STA; makes IDs even more independent. This is probably the best and/or most useful piece of gear I've bought in years.

Ahh, yes, MUCH better picture! OK, completely understood. An old (2006) OMS Price List gives these as $183 retail.
