A pleasant idiot, none the less. Bloomburg predicted this morning that we would see $50 dollar oil in the near future with North Dakota coming on line. North Dakota isn't coming online any time soon, and as long as we export our refined product instead of using it here, pump prices will remain high. I did a little happy dance for about 3 minutes until I thought it through. You're in good company.
You could have 50 gazillion bbls of oil. If it isn't where you can refine it it does no good. The oil being produced in ND is salve to the railroad as the vast majority of the oil produced there now goes by rail, that increases the cost of delivery and keeps the price of refined products high.
Not saying it's right or saying anything to be controversial but it is in fact true.
