Frickin' irritating - I am supposed to be taking the kids to Disney World on Thursday and you just know they are going to cancel flights at the last minute for what will probably be a small tropical storm or bottom edge Cat 1 at the time.

You wait all season for a nice hurricane (3 easy days off work!) and then one comes on the day you want to fly. Typical.

Gee Liz,I was on Curacao during Leni, this looks worse.
Hope you all stay safe.

Oma has certainly made a mess on the island. The road by the habour was flooded earlier today. Divi lost part of their pier while we stopped by. The cappachino bar on the pier in town is gone. The mall was sand bagged (near the old KFC) but still flodded. Most businesses were closed in town; including City Cafe. Our group went to about 5 open restuarnts but all were full and only taking reservations. We ended up joining a local birthday party to get dinner. I guess the took pity on us after walking in the pouring rain for 30 minutes trying to find some place to eat tonight - soakuping wet. Bongos is closed also, and even the locals were amazed at the surf and breakers. The tug boats were standing by off Eden Beach, where they were somewhat sheltered by Klien Bonaire. We are hoping to dive tomorrow but know the visibility will be poor. Maybe this is the time to try out the Western Side?

Well HURRICANE Omar is upon us. Thank goodness it is starting to move northeast (but bad for the other islands. The center is located 148 miles north of us, so with its turning motion I suspect we will be feeling effects for a few days. The wind has quieted a bit, but the all of then we get huge gusts. Time for bed and wait for morning light to see what he has left for us.

We are safe up here on the hill and the inn is fine.

Will post again in the AM.

Wow Liz!!!! I never even heard you were on the storm's line...I always think the ABC's are safe. Take care...and hope to see you in Feb.....
