One old wrist seal "melted" itself onto a SI TECH ring. New seals are installed and ready to go, but how do I get that gooy old residue off the ring?

Nail polish remover didn't work. Scraping/rubbing isn't working.

In the meantime I seem to be a wetglove diver (ouch).

Can you get MEK? methyl ethyl ketone

What is it normally used for and/or from whom can it usually be purchased (for example pharmaceutical shop, workshop, chem lab)?

As they are the old rings are unusable. It would be great if I could get the "gummed up" rings back into service.

It's a strong cleaner/solvent. Dive shops use it here to clean trilam drysuits before trying to glue seals on. It's safe on the latex too. We get it at what we call hardware stores, maybe what you call a workshop. Maybe a paint store.

OK, I'll send a few emails and see if I can find some. Thanks!
