Since Chamber Day dives had to be canceled due to weather, and my daughter and I are in from Southern Nevada, we decided to go check out some local beach dive sites... Well, what is pictured here is not what we found for Old Marineland....

The entire area is built on.... New Hotel, Condo's, Golf Course, Etc. There was a very small public parking lot that I couldn't even find the entrance to the Beach Access from. Just past that was a parking attendant that didn't seem to have any idea what we were talking about and wasn't inclined to let us past.

I stole this pic from recent post on another thread. This is not what we found for the area. Any suggestion on how to reach the dive site?

Drove all around and couldn't find any beach access.

Thanks,

Bradley

When you come to the first stop sign, turn left into the public parking (X on the map). Walk down the stairs at the lower corner of the lot and follow the paved sidewalk toward the ocean. Walk down the stairs and turn left toward the snack bar. There are restrooms and a shower there which you will really appreciate after the dive. If the ocean is flat, which it isn't right now you could follow the dirt path to the right behind the snack bar and enter at the point (Z on the map), or continue toward the cove and enter there (Y on the map). The best diving is just outside the kelp at the point, but it requires a 1/4 mile surface swim or an entry at the point. I prefer the swim.
